setting "prompt_cache_retention" to "24h" in the Responses API can lead to significant cost and latency improvements in gpt-5.1, since prompts will be cached much longer than the normal 5-10 minutes

i was privileged to become american thanks to the h-1b visa. the program has its flaws, but adding a $100k "bribe" (which can be arbitrarily waived if you please the right people) is not the answer
