Read a bit more fiction this year, and added some variety to my usual interesting-but-sometimes-depressing non-fiction habits.

Luxuriating in the spare time I have during a break from work to play Shadow of the Colossus and recount some of my favourite albums from the year. Here are the albums. 💿

A lot of up and down but I mostly liked Metroid Prime 4.
Each zone being entirely detached is a bit of a bummer but each of them was fun to navigate and search for secrets.
I even enjoyed the desert, it served as a nice generally low-key place to explore between main areas.

I love listening to people mostly be unhappy about Apple, talking about cool video games, and a bunch of news I suppose.

Really happy that DF have an audio show now. I could listen to that crew forever tbh.

Found out today that TDJ does annual bootleg tapes of sets that they release for free/pay-what-you-want on Bandcamp. Merry Christmas, here's some good clubby trancey music 🎶

Six dollars and an hour of your time is all this game asks.
It uses video games as an interactive medium to communicate something in a way words and images alone could not, and I love it for that.

This is a wonderful ongoing effort that I love to see, but I’ll be real with you all.
I’m reposting for this delightful piece of header art. What a treat.
Every year this is a manual process and almost certainly we've missed a few games. Submit your games here using our form and we'll get it added! www.sifter.com.au/add-my-game-...

Lmao me of a few years ago bought a Roomba specifically because it seemed like most of the alternatives either vacuumed my data or would be here today, gone tomorrow. Roomba sells replacement parts for decades old machines so seemed a good bet.

More fool me, I guess.

I subbed to Read Only Memo a few months ago and it’s been a pleasant little treat every time it appears in my inbox.

It’s so nice to keep up with the espteric junk i enjoy like advancements in emulator cores or translations of previously unavailable games.

Please spend more time clicking on (and sharing!) links to personal sites, your friend's Bandcamp, that specialist news site, and that forum you used to read daily than posting about how you miss the old internet. The old internet's still here! You just stopped visiting!

So many planets out there with slots the size of Samus’ morph ball that also respond to concussive force to control vital infrastructure.

Interesting.

An Amstrad CPC I got handed down from my cousins. It was already mega old by the time I got it, but it was the first computer that was mine to do what I wanted with.

Read the manual cover to cover and learn rudimentary programming by painstakingly copying from it.

Nintendo are too cowardly to put this on Nintendo Music so I have taken matters into my own hands.

I’m so glad live music is proper back post COVID.
I’ve got 6 shows already booked for next year and it hasn’t even started yet!
