I think they should! My understanding is that Matter = basically compatible with everything.

2. Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of the Patriots

A little less incredible to play than I remember (it blew my mind open as a teen) but the ideas are still salient, relevant.
The idea of leaving a mark on the world beyond your genes through culture and what was important to us particularly hits.

Gonna be one of those people who does a thread of games for the year! It’s like the notes app on my phone but you can see it.

1. Shadow of the Colossus HD

This game is as cool as it’s been built up to be. The journey to each colossus and the creative puzzliness of fighting them is so good.

(Let’s assume I listened in 2006 also just before I started tracking 🙂)

Had an unexplained urge to listen to Shrek (Music From The Original Motion Picture) today, then thought I’d check my lastfm and see how long ago I’d last listened.
Apparently this is a once-a-decade listen for me.

See you in 2036, Shrek (Music From The Original Motion Picture).

I work in something like this on the daily and while there are some annoyances, it’s pretty damn cool.

It’s been a while but I think actual Australian!

One day I’ll run out of pictures I saved from Miitomo and I don’t know what I’ll do then

Ninajirachi and Suzi featured heavily on my vote card! Both Australian artists who released fantastic albums in 2025.

Incredibly engagingly written, whole heart thrown into it, talked to all the right people to get a complete view of what was going on.
It’s horrific but a Very Good Book!

Played through (either finished or a significant amount of) thirty games in 2025!
January 2, 2026 at 12:01 AM
Read a bit more fiction this year, and added some variety to my usual interesting-but-sometimes-depressing non-fiction habits.

Luxuriating in the spare time I have during a break from work to play Shadow of the Colossus and recount some of my favourite albums from the year. Here are the albums. 💿

Praying crying that Valve bought half the world’s RAM supply in advance to avoid the coming problem

Yeah I have my Deck docked a whole lot of the time because I love playing games on my nice TV, but it’s a bit annoying having to manage settings if I want to run a game differently docked via handheld.
December 29, 2025 at 10:25 AM
My Deck is a damn near perfect solution but a box that lives under the TV would be even better.
December 29, 2025 at 9:52 AM
Yeah I played a bit of it at the time and my primary recollection is an opening in a base with a bunch of characters, and travelling by ship between a bunch of separate zones. Structure wise at least 4 seems to follow that.

i wonder if the tumultuous dev process took its toll

I also wonder if the Prime games i skipped (3 and Fed Force) might shed some light on things. I basically bounced off of past Prime games with the weird other bounty hunters or that attempted to have characters beside samus.
