They're anticipating the apocaplyse movies - an event that matches religious apocalyptic beliefs, a coming punishment for human decadence - a Noah's flood. It's the point where reasonable discussion of climate change tips over into relgious end-of-the-worldism. There's no space for the incremental.

Their systems are "house in need of refurbishment" standard....too much dodgy work in many little jobs, things work on a good day, but boy can there be disappointments. Might be best to just tear it all down and start again...speaking as a customer.

Amazing. BA has simply the worst customer facing IT systems. It's amazing as you navigate the various websites and apps how inconsistent and poor quality they are. Often part of the page doesn't work, or you find yourself on pages some 15 years old...layers of history.
