Batch one of the Christmas sausage rolls (they won’t make it)
Not something I could drink gallons of, but nice enough! Actually my days of drinking gallon(s) of beer are long in the past.
21000 new homes given go ahead in our area and we have less than six weeks drinking water supply in our reservoirs? Previous developments involved schools, doctors surgeries and other infrastructure none of which materialised. It’s a shitstorm!
Ouse Booze is back, 25 years ago Lewes flooded and Harvey’s Brewery was evacuated as water washed barrels down the Ouse and out to sea. The half days brews were combined and left to ferment above the flood. It was later sold to help flood relief. The anniversary re-brew is available in cans now.
Tudno Pils from Wild Horse Brewing Co. West Coast Pilsner, is that a thing? Apparently it is, and it’s not bad either.
Last time I went to the surgery to ask if anything could be done for my knees, he said, as I managed the stairs and didn’t use the lift, they weren’t bad enough. The thing was the lift had a sign saying it was out of action!
You managed to get an appointment 👀!
It’s amazing how many farms have hedgerows where they grow although in our part of the world, there are a good number of fields called the hop garden.
A short walk around our local reservoir confirmed my suspicions, the rain has barely moistened the banks. House building in the SE goes at pace whilst the infrastructure for it is still in the 1960’s.
‘Bodacious’, now that’s a word we don’t hear much in the UK!
It’s all Oktoberfest in the Hop Sun, not complaining, but can anyone tell me why it starts in September or why Halloween has appeared weeks ago in the shops and Santa’s grotto is being advertised?
According to my smart arsed watch app, I had a good nights sleep with a score of 86, but it also says I woke nine times in six and a half hours, it’s bollocks!
The demise of national beer festivals may be on the cards but the local festivals seem to be thriving and maybe this is where CAMRA should be concentrating. I’ve not attended a GBBF for some years purely due to the costs of travel and accommodation whilst there are at least four decent local ones
Bluebell beer festival just opened, sunshine, beer and steam!
I voiced the opinion that we should run ours yesterday to check it works okay, only to be told we have a boiler service booked next week. Okay, I’ll have to consider wearing something other than shorts and t-shirt!
The Albion in Conwy is a gem, both for the period interior and the beer.
My brother in law always said Grassington village was a Yorkshire man’s heaven, fish and chip shop next to a pub!.
Who knew Wales had a legendary drunkard?
Nice to see the King and Barnes name on the list, acquired by Hall and Woodhouse in 2000 and the brewery closed. They had fifty five pubs and operated passport system. Get all fifty five stamps and you got a sweatshirt, do it more than once and you got a different coloured one.
