Everyone is very welcome to all our services tomorrow: at 8am, 10:30am for our Cathedral Eucharist, and 3:30pm Choral Evensong.

Choral Evensong also sees Liz O'Ryan (Rector of Holy Trinity, Haddington) officially installed as the Synod Clerk. Congratulations, Liz!
We have a visiting group of bellringers at St Mary's Cathedral on Saturday - they're planning to ring a full peal, that is, a complete set of 'changes' from 10am-2pm. It's a fantastic feat of ringing, and a real treat to hear, if you're anywhere near!

The Cathedral is launching a new choir - Jubilate Junior Choir! This is a choir for children in P3-7 who love to sing, meeting every Friday in the Song School on the Cathedral grounds during term time, 3-4pm. The first session is on Friday 24th October - sign up here: forms.office.com/e/XWZEeMrzPu.
We're delighted to announce that from January 2026, Max Carsley will be joining our Music team as the new Assistant Organist! For the last 3 years Max has been studying Church Music at Universität der Künste Berlin, and since September has been the Organ Scholar at Salisbury Cathedral.

World premiere time! We're really excited to be giving the first performance tonight of Seeing Creation by award-winning Finnish composer Jaakko Mäntyjärvi. Come along to Choral Evensong to hear it.

All welcome to our services tomorrow! With the Cathedral Choir singing beautiful music by Palestrina, Gabriel Jackson, and Joanna Marsh's Everlasting Covenant, premiered by the Cathedral this time last year!
Tomorrow's 5:30pm Choral Evensong is a special one: it includes the signing of the St Ninian Declaration, supporting a deepening relationship between Episcopalians and Roman Catholics in Scotland.

There will also be a symposium at 2pm at St Mary's Catholic Cathedral, and a first signing at 4pm.

Tonight at 7pm we have a great discussion at the Cathedral: Responding to the Sacred. What is the liturgy for? How do we respond theologically to the idea of liturgical change? How might liturgies be reimagined in 2025? Who gets to decide?

The Fringe is over - but we're still going! With a recital from William Guo (St Mary's Music School ) and John Cameron today at 1pm, with violin music by Beethoven and Stravinsky, and Jo Clifford's last performance of Ringing Out the Changes (****) on Thursday 28th at 2:30pm.
