BREAKING 🚨: WE WON OUR CASE AGAINST ROSEBANK.

The court has ruled the oil field UNLAWFUL and Rosebank’s approval has been overturned.

This is a monumental victory in the fight for a liveable future for all.

Governments, including the UK, must take responsibility for the energy transition instead of leaving it to oil and gas companies.

We need a clear plan that phases out fossil fuels, supports workers and communities, and creates secure, long-term renewable jobs.
stopcambo.bsky.social
The secure jobs of the future are in renewables, not oil and gas. Most oil and gas companies are still pouring money into fossil fuels, even as North Sea production declines.

The industry keeps promising to transition but won’t while their profit comes from business as usual.
stopcambo.bsky.social
It's the same in the UK.

Since 2015, only 6 offshore companies have invested in UK renewable projects, even as profits have soared and workers ask for long-term, sustainable jobs.

And just 7 out of 87 of these companies will invest anything in renewable energy by 2030.
stopcambo.bsky.social
Researchers found that more than half of this limited renewable capacity came from buying existing projects, not building new ones. It's window dressing.

Together, these firms produce 88% of the world’s oil & gas, yet renewables make up only 0.13% of their total energy output.

BREAKING 🚨: The world’s 250 largest oil & gas companies own 1.5% of global renewable power capacity.

Despite years of climate pledges, new research shows their real investment in clean energy remains tiny compared to fossil fuels.

Oil giants are NOT serious about the transition.
stopcambo.bsky.social
This is not about protecting workers. It is about protecting power and profit. The real future is clean energy, secure jobs, and innovation that keeps Britain competitive. The past is Farage and Ratcliffe shaking hands while the world moves forward without them.
stopcambo.bsky.social
Ineos has laid off sixty workers in Hull, shut two plants in Germany, & closed the refinery in Grangemouth. Each time, Ratcliffe points at energy costs & carbon taxes for these closures. He never mentions his own choice to delay investing in cleaner, more competitive industries.
stopcambo.bsky.social
Nigel Farage is courting UK's richest man, Jim Ratcliffe, the Ineos boss who called clean energy targets “absurd.” Ratcliffe’s empire has shut refineries, cut jobs, & blamed climate policy for it all. Farage wants him onside. That says everything about where Reform UK is heading.

Much of this progress came from the Global South.

China added more solar and wind capacity than the rest of the world combined.

India and several African nations also saw record solar growth that helped reduce coal and gas use.
stopcambo.bsky.social
GOOD NEWS 🎉: For the first time in history, renewables have overtaken coal as the world’s biggest source of electricity.

Solar and wind met 100% of new global electricity demand in the first half of 2025 and even helped cut coal and gas use.

While the Tory party's energy & climate policy grows increasingly detached from reality, worth reflecting on a remarkable, under-reported event at Labour conference: the launch of Climate Jobs UK, a campaign by GMB, Prospect & other TUs focused on the creation of good jobs in the energy transition

Our thoughts, love and solidarity.

This isn’t leadership. It’s reckless. Scrapping the Climate Change Act won’t cut bills. It won’t grow the economy. It will only make the crisis worse and lock us into a dead-end future.
stopcambo.bsky.social
So who wins here? Not families. Not workers. Just oil firms, Farage’s anti-science grift, and Trump-style climate denial. All while clean energy jobs, investment, and real security are left behind.
stopcambo.bsky.social
Let’s be clear. Fossil fuel dependence cost the UK £140bn after Putin invaded Ukraine. The Tories spent £40bn of public money just to stop bills exploding. Clean energy could have protected us. Badenoch wants to kill it.
stopcambo.bsky.social
The North Sea is now like a piñata at the end of a kids’ party. You can hit it all you want, but nothing’s coming out.

New drilling won’t lower bills. Won’t boost supply. Just more profits for oil companies while the rest of us pay the price.
stopcambo.bsky.social
After 60 years of drilling, the North Sea can’t give us cheap energy. The gas is mostly gone. Oil gets sold overseas. Prices stay high.

This isn’t a plan. This is vapid, political game playing at the expense of bill payers and the UK’s energy workers

BREAKING 🚨: Kemi Badenoch says she’ll repeal the UK’s Climate Change Act if the Tories win.

That means scrapping carbon targets, shutting down the climate watchdog, and locking Britain into fossil fuels right as the world heats up and bills soar.

Nick Robinson on Today this AM was completely wrong to suggest that pumping more oil & gas from the North Sea would lower bills, something even former Tory Energy Secretaries have accepted.

We’ve burned most of the gas and export the vast majority of the oil—and oil is basically what’s left…
