Yeah, that spark would have detonated the entire thing, which would in turn have detonated the other silos.
Joke was on me in the end, as I spent the next hour doing sound effects as he asked how it sounded when the corn attacked various people.
I am reminded of the time I was driving from Minnesota to Kansas with my then 13-year old son, and as we passed through Iowa I said, “See that corn growing outside the fence? That’s man-eating corn, and it’s escaped.”
See, here’s the thing — I’m not actually hearing it in Dolly’s voice. I’m hearing it in the voice of the jacked pit bull character in Aggretsuko who only ever says, “PROTEIIIIN.”
Not saying it’s boring, because it absolutely is not, but it can be so soothing when you need that.
I love How It’s Made — both because it’s interesting and informative, but also because it was soothing enough when a stray sneeze slightly tore a muscle in my side that I could watch it, focus on breathing, and finally fall asleep.
LOL, that’s great. Well, it’s her own damn fault.
As a reply to her, I mean.
Would be a shame if someone posted that screenshot with “this is what she deleted, may it follow her wheresoever she goes.”
Hell yes, statutory salary caps are absolutely necessary, and tying how high the cap is to how much the lowest paid employee gets would go a long way towards fixing a lot of shit.
While I’m VERY opposed to tax breaks for billionaires and corporations, there is one and only one way I could accept them in limited terms: that they are conditioned on using them to give substantial pay increases to all their employees.
Failing that, tax them out of billionaire status.
The good thing about BlueSky is that there’s fewer reply guys here compared to the other site.
This is also the bad thing about BlueSky.
Excuse me, the WHAT discourse?
See, I was thinking of the end of The Cook, The Thief, His Wife, and Her Lover
This stuff — was absolutely the best to pre-teen me.
I remember — and deeply miss — the Kraft chicken and noodles boxed dinners from so many years ago.
Never been much of a sports fan, but disasters like this? Endlessly entertaining.
I’m willing to die on that hill, and I’m a boring as fuck cis white man. Plus, I know plenty more who are also willing.
You do realize there’s another Dem governor who is far better than Newsom in every damn way, right?
…and then leaping off of the tree, grabbing a backpack on the way down — tearing the whole thing down in the process.
I believe that bear got tranqed and hauled deep into the wilderness, away from people.
So, you know those wire contraptions that are meant to hang backpacks from, to keep them out of the reach of bears?
This bear solved that problem in a particularly dramatic way.
Namely, by climbing a nearby tree so that the bear was ABOVE the backpacks….
Maaaaaan, Mothman did nothing wrong.
*MOVIE ANNOUNCER VOICE*

One of my uncles spent a long time as a park ranger in the Great Smoky Mountains national park, and he talked a good bit about what it took to “recycle” feral Russian boars.
Also a LOT of bear stories, including what he called the “Flying Wallendas Bear.”
