This was better than I expected but it was still full of clichés. It is visually impressive, has some great acting, blood and gore but it need something more. #HorrorMovies #SerialKillers

#LetterboxdFriday - my last four watched. Santa Claus Conquers The Martians, Insatiable, The Mean One and Sick. Yeah, I still don't know how to share from #Letterboxd #HorrorMovies

Had a brilliant girly day of history and mystery at the Dark Secrets Esoteric exhibition. It was absolutely fascinating (though the mood lighting nearly required a headlamp to read the info placards!). We followed it up with some absolutely yummy Thai food, the perfect way to recharge!

Oh, this was bad. The dialogue is idiotic and the actors feels like they got the lines a few moments before they started filming. The sets and the alien costumes are hideous, and the soundtrack, especially the credits song is annoying. #ChrismasFilm #SantaClaus #SciFiFilm

An okay film with Michael Biehn and Sean Patrick Flannery giving good performances. #HorrorMovies #VampireFilm #Vampire #VampireHorror #BMovie #IndieHorror #DirectToVideo #HorrorCommunity

The Chicken, Bacon Mac and Cheese was absolutely divine, The Cherry Cheesecake refused to set. It was still delicious, just more of a cherry cheesecake soup. What we watched was the glorious chaos of The Slumber Party Massacre 2 and a half-dose of the darkly brilliant Garth Marenghi's Darkplace.

Swapped the keyboard for the broom today! Got the house spick and span for tomorrow's essential bad film night with a friend (popcorn and questionable plots, assemble!). Now that the domestic duties are done, it's time to pour some tea and tackle this book. #AmWriting #HouseworkHustle

Day 1 of my six-day break: Easing in gently with some reading and kicking off my Christmas Horror film deep dive with The Mean One. Research is going well! Less well? Checking in on my student loan debt. Guess I'll be writing horror articles for the next century to pay that one off.

I wasn't sure what I was going to get with this film, but it is so bad, they're good, even with its bad CGI and cheesy one-liners. And the conclusion, pure genius. #HorrorMovies

Book 38 - The Essential #MonsterMovieGuide edited by #StephenJones. This is an excellent read, but the monsters lean towards the classic #UniversalMonsters types, as opposed to aliens etc. #ClassicHorror ##CreatureFeature #Bookworm #BookCollection #HorrorReads

My long-term relationship ended recently. But I’ve run into a big emotional hurdle: my published books, all dedicated to my ex. They represent years of my hard work, but also a painful past. Do I keep them on the shelves or do I box them up to make more emotional room for the future?

This Thanksgiving, let's keep it simple: gratitude, home, and good company. We don't need the elaborate meal to feel thankful.
When Black Friday rolls around, skip the big box crowds and put your dollars where they matter most. Think of the independent, local shops! They need us now more than ever.

It was average #slasher, with likeable characters and decent acting. But I suspect by tomorrow I will have forgotten most of it. #HorrorMovies

It is a fun zombie film, perhaps not the best made, but has a good script. There are a few funny moments, violence is bloody but the CGI is a little irritating. #HorrorMovies

I was not expecting to stumble into a so bad, they're good film tonight but hey we are. The actors are clearly having fun, although Robin Askwith is appalling. #HorrorMovies #70shorror

This was surprisingly good, one of Lugiso better roles. The rest of the cast are fine, if unexceptional. The film suffers from poor pacing and some slow moments, often feeling like a play. #HorrorMovies #BelaLugosi #HorrorThriller #Thriller #BritishHorror #VintageThriller #GothicAesthetic

Missed most of these as I have been on my works Christmas meal (don't ask). My male character is scared about not being able to save a loved one, to the point that they no longer uses thier real name.
Q4 is up. Ten minutes to outro and the promo: I am still working my way through. You're all wonderful busy bees today and I adore you!
This one is a little easier. No archetypes!

My First thought when I saw this. Has @thecinemasnob.bsky.social reviewed this? And if, not he should.
How bad could a movie with this cast be? Turns out...pretty bad. Pretty bad to a Bacharach soundtrack even. Pretty bad to a Bacharach soundtrack on a beach.

Book 37 - #TheDevil'sDiaries by Nicholas D Satan. This was better than I expected. It was witty, silly and visually appealing book. It was a quick read, over two lunch breaks. I have never known the devil appear so human. #SatanicComedy #DarkHumour #DevilBook #BookHumour #MythologyRetold

I know the point was the lead character was suppose to be annoying but I have never wanted a character to die so much! If the script had been better that might have helped. #HorrorMovies #Horror #FoundFootage #FoundFootageHorror

I was a little disappointed, I wasn't expecting the polished #Hitchcock that we would see in later years, but this didn't hit the spot for me. #HitchcockFilm

Just had the best chat with my supermarket delivery driver!
They spotted the horror movie posters in the hall and decided to test my knowledge. They were genuinely shocked at how much I knew about the genre! Yes, we female horror fans exist, and we know our slashers from our supernatural!

This high concept battle of the wills doesn't quite ring true. I, unfortunately, about halfway I lost interest in the outcome. And I was disappointed when we got there. However, Anthony Hopkins' give his role some gravtis by his voice alone. And Bill Skarsgard gives his character some real depth.

There is nothing new here, ghost hunters at a creepy asylum is clichéd at this point. The acting is terrible and the dialogue is hilarious. Apart from one moment, there is no real blood or gore. #HorrorMovies #LowBudgetHorror #FoundFootage #FoundFootageHorror #SupernaturalHorror
