Lucifer and Lilith on the ground of the Hell they just landed in, a wall of fire surrounds them. "The fire burns hot here. It keeps the bitter dark at bay" (like our sun does for the Earth) "It makes me think of...free will" A light memory of something soft, something simple, like an apple, like free will. But free will comes with consequences, good and bad, and for Lucifer it was getting sent down to Hell in the form of a lightning bolt(“I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven” from the book of Luke) Now there is nothing but fire. Lucifer looks at his greatest joy Lilith, what lead him to make the choices he made. The shame must weight heavy on such a prideful soul. He helps her stand up. "No matter the consequences, we can forge a new path as many times as it takes until it leads to home. Even when cast into the deepest of holes, there will always be some light to guide our way out." Every time the Earth spins we get a new day, whether we embrace it or not, but every day you search for joy and change, is another day you fought for the life our sun has granted us. "And we can share it" Lucifer and Lilith's hand, glowing form the fires of Hell, cast out a star into the dark abyss of space where Earth sits and the sun peeking once again against its crest. Lucifer's name translates to “shining one,” “light bearer,” or “morning star.” He's associated with Venus in the bible(the morning star) as it's the first to appear at night and the last to leave at dawn, and I love what that represents, like he's giving us as much light as possible through the darkness, even if it's only a few extra minutes before the sun sets, a little can go a long way for those struggling. Now for my lil New Years spiel: We're on a watery rock getting hurled around a ball of energy 100x bigger than it, and that ball of energy isn't even THAT big in the grand scheme of "things that are big in the universe," yet here we are getting the chance to do absurd things every day we wake up breathing. I cope through life by taking in just how intensely amazing existence is. It makes a lot of my problems feel small, no matter how much they burn me out, or what struggles I face, at the end of the day I can be certain the sun will rise like it has for billions of years, and that's another opportunity to strive for happiness, just like every other creature out there trying to stay alive and find comfort. I came out of a 20 year depression just a few years ago, and focusing on every small good thing in my life is what got me through the most painful, lonely, and hopeless days. Every microstep taken towards living kept the fight going until I can finally say I'm a happy person, even when most of my days are filled with stress, I know there will always be tomorrow, until there isn't(for me), and at least when that day comes I can know I gave it my all and soaked in as much beauty as possible. Happy New Year everyone, thank you for reading if you got this far, I just love space, and physics, and nature, and this crazy reality so much! <3
