Last night's tribute to Lead Belly at the Cedar marked the 77th anniversary of his 1948 Minneapolis house show. It was a magical night full of stories about Lead Belly's influence on the American folk tradition, esp here in MN. A highlight for me was Pop Wagner and Mikkel Beckman's take on this song

this reminds me of that guy in my first-year dorm who went through all of college being called "sans" just because he started college with a part and then went and styled his hair without one
What is your mnemonic for remembering whether a person spells their name "Anne" or "Ann"? I try to associate the "e" or "lack of e" with their personality. This works about half the time.
