One of the reasons why I hate this season: since the end of May the fires have started to devastate the island; today alone there were 40 fires (!) for some of which it was necessary to intervene even with Canadairs and helicopters. And it's only the beginning of the season.

I didn't see them either, neither when I was there in front of it nor when I checked the photos the first few times 😅 The excuse is that, compared to other species that flaunt them on display, this one camouflages them well!

I'm sorry to bother you about something that may not be important but, while checking other photos of this lichen, I noticed something that I had not noticed before and remembered our conversation. Could the darker "beans" I circled be apothecia? One seems to have a sort of flat pinkish upper part.

Foliose lichen and moss. The lichen in a dark coloured one and some details in the photo have been circled in red to highlight them.

I understand what you mean; I often try to write interesting things in the ALT text, if the subject of the photo "provides" arguments. Curiosities or uses of some plants, particular behaviors of certain species... if I don't find anything, I just put the flat description 😕

The spider is seen frontally but from a high perspective, so as to see the whole body. The color varies from light gray to beige, with whitish spots on the opisthosoma. The legs are long and robust, with some black spines.

Setaphis sp. ♂
The image is a little out of focus and the details of the spider are not very clearly visible, but you can appreciate the elongated body of almost black color and the legs that have the peculiarity of being black near the body and almost orange on the tarsus and part of the metatarsus. The first pair of legs, moreover, is slightly more robust than the others. It's a very fast spider!

Thanks for the ID, I'll look into it 😊 Sadly, I searched all the internet but it seems that there is no census or list of the species of lichens in Sardinia, so I can't confirm that. It's a huge shortcoming that only plants and fungi of the island have been catalogued but not lichens. What a pity!

I mainly do loose leaf teas but sometimes also herbal teas. I have both caffeinated and natural decaffeinated type, I choose based on my mood and how my nose likes it in that particular moment 😆
For most Sardinians this temperature is perfect 🙈 a lot of people were at the beach these days.
