We lost Jimmy Cliff yesterday. He almost single handedly brought Reggae to the world. His albums have been in my rotation since 1973.

Went on a mosey around my town yesterday. Been going very gentle with the new eyes!

It is #Stunday, so here is last night's sunset. Looking north from my front porch, and more neighbors need to move their homes.

For perspective, the snow-capped peaks in the distance are about 35 miles away. Winter is tardy this year.

I seem to have made a bazillion of you uncomfortable with my last few posts. It should have.

Well into the 1960s, the Montana Deaf and Dumb Asylum still performed involuntary sterilizations.

You can change the name of an institution, but a leopard can't change its spots.

Originally named Montana Deaf and Dumb Asylum, the campus' first building was constructed in 1898. For roughly the next 100 years, it pretty much tortured people.

One of the eeriest places I ever photographed. The Montana State Training School in Boulder. As one Reddit commenter noted "My mom gave my brother to the state when he was 6. We would go visit him there. It was hell on earth."
