While it doesn't fully redeem it, the DLCs for 3 at least generally have pretty decent writing, especially in regards to Bounty of Blood.

I'm not sure that really applies to Silksong though, it's been highly anticipated for years now. It didn't pop off at random, it had people clamoring for it ever since it was announced.

Plus going for realistic will ALWAYS end up aging poorly, especially when compared to more stylized games. Jet Set Radio still looks phenomenal to this day

It was a bizarre writing decision to try and force Peter away from MJ, mainly because they somehow thought it made Peter less 'relatable', which is stupid. Plus they did it through some real dumb story contrivances that mostly happened off screen. Also Paul is just a complete nothing of a character.

We sort of can't use the law, since they just twist what it means or can straight up ignore it because they have federal backing. Genuinely the only ways I've seen to effectively stop their kidnappings is to literally physically stop them, like that one 'agent' who got stuck on a construction site.

...And how are they doing that? From what I know, being critical of a piece of literature is a sign of actually being an active reader since you have something to compare it against. Beginning your book with "The thing happened" with zero foundation and just pushing forward is bad writing.

I wholeheartedly recommend giving 3 a try. It's the first one to really play with the Light and Dark ideas, and its soundtrack hits hella different after Shadowbringers.
