Twelfth Night, usually 5 January (though some regard it as the 6th), was a traditional time to wassail the apple trees in England’s cider counties, singing and blessing them for luck and a good crop. In parts of the West Country, Old Twelfth Night is still kept on 17 January.

It’s once again that time of year to cut back those Epimediums so that we get a chance to see those flowers in a couple weeks.

I love the flowers on Mexican Orange Blossom, and the foliage on this variety (Choisya × dewitteana 'Aztec Pearl') is cool as well. #TinyFlowerTuesday

Not exactly a #ThickTrunkTuesday contender, but I love this kink in this tree’s trunk. A great example of how a tree will bend at extreme angles to find a gap between other trees.

Winston Howes lost his wife. He planted thousands of oak trees in a six-acre field

Once it was completed he put a seat in the field, overlooking the hill near where she used to live. He didn't tell anyone
