It’s the last day in Doggerland for the @bradarch.bsky.social @subnordica.bsky.social , @vliz.be teams and the Simon Stevin. It’s been a very succesful trip already - plenty of lithics, cores and survey data.

It’s been a busy couple of days at sea, taken up by dredging and grabs of targets during the day, and surveying through the night. We’re still sorting through all the material but hopefully we’ll have more to report soon🤞 @bradarch.bsky.social @vliz.be #archaeology #northsea #doggerland

Another busy day on the RV Simon Stevin. Today we focused on dredging a number of priority areas, and started the long process of sorting through all the material! In the afternoon we also captured a number of video frames of the seabed @bradarch.bsky.social @vliz.be

It’s the beginning of day 2 on the RV Simon Stevin and we’ve just finished our first night of survey. We’ve a busy day ahead, with a number of targets within the first survey area before moving up the southern river valley @vliz.be @bradarch.bsky.social

During Robyn and Simon's recent field work planning trip to Lake Ogawara, Northern Japan, they had the opportunity to visit the Towada Volcano, a highly eruptive force during the Late Palaeolithic which has now formed into a caldera.

We’re now on our way to the southern river area of the North Sea, as part of work with the Taken at the Flood project. We’ll keep you updated on all our progress on the RV Simon Stevin over the next 7 days @bradarch.bsky.social @vliz.be
