The true value of analytics lies not in the data itself but in the intelligence we extract and communicate. We don’t just inform decisions—we shape them.
If data analysis is really about turning noise into strategy and telling data stories that matter, I’d love to hear from you.
Our job goes far beyond reports. We spot subtle trends, identify anomalies before they escalate, and transform chaos into clarity. Each dataset hides a story, and it’s our responsibility to find it and make it actionable.
Beyond the Spreadsheet: Data Analysts Are the New Corporate Detectives
The idea that data analysts only crunch numbers is outdated. We are corporate detectives—seeking truth, connecting patterns, and uncovering insights that drive million-dollar decisions.
October, I’m chasing: • More wins in applications • Consistency in my learning • Sharing more stories and data lessons • At least one funded breakthrough
September tested me: • 20 job apps → 20 rejections • 16 Professors → only 1 reply • Arm recovery → better than before • Gained new followers • 2 internship slots → no funds to finalize
But here’s the thing… I fell, failed, and still got up.
Email 16 Professors about potentially joining their lab in Fall 2026 for graduate school. Only one replied. That’s a 6.25% response rate, which means I need to optimize my outreach strategy.
Thank you, Ene, for lifting me in my career journey. Thank you for giving me 70 minutes of your valuable time. I am deeply grateful and I hope to connect with you again soon.
Ene was calm, listened to my background, heard my story, and then pointed me in the right direction. She made me see the simple mistakes and overlooks I had been making, and how to correct them. I left the session with clarity, renewed confidence, and a clear sense of next steps.
The session was scheduled for 18th September 2025, a 45-minute slot. Yesterday, it happened. What was supposed to be 45 minutes turned into 70 minutes of her time, free of charge. I can boldly say those 70 minutes are the highlight of my journey in 2025 so far.
My first thought was that booking a session would require payment, and truthfully, I had nothing to pay. But when she shared the link, I told myself there was no harm in checking. To my surprise, it was free.
I did, but she didn’t reply for a few days. I thought, “This is why I don’t usually message experts, they’re usually busy and may not see it, talk more about replying the message.” But my assumption was proved wrong 😅. Ene replied and said she would share her Calendly link for me to book a session.
For a long time, I had been wishing for a one-on-one conversation with an expert in the industry. Ene threw that opportunity my way, and I grabbed it immediately. She asked me to reach out to her inbox the following week.
I joined her comment section and shared my biggest challenge so far. Ene replied with positive energy and even added that she would be happy to jump on a call if I needed it.
Three weeks ago on LinkedIn, I came across a post by Ene Ojaide MBCS describing the hardest part about breaking into data: doubting yourself and procrastination. That hit me because it has been my own battle for the past fifteen weeks.
I’m open to data analyst opportunities and would be glad to connect with recruiters, hiring managers, and professionals. I also welcome peers in the data space to share insights, collaborate, and grow together.
