I get so fed up at this time of year when almost all the recipes have some form of nuts in them. Ground almonds are a total pain

My grandson has finally managed to tell me he doesn't like knitted things anymore. He'd rather have hoodies. Ah well.

Even now if you are sewing something very firm ( like a stiff leather) you might use a bradawl to make the actual hole then the needle to pull the thread through. Maybe that's how fragile bone needles worked too

My local park has quite a few flitting about in the conifers. I am often found standing there watching carefully. Easy to hear them, hard to see!

There are lots of them in my local park. I can hear them easily but I do get some funny looks standing under the trees trying to spot them

This is the price for all the new technology and most people are totally unaware of it. Creating a fun AI avatar, mini clip or tik tok story and so much more all requires energy. We are all merrily fiddling away on our phones while Rome burns

I remember stranded colour work which we all called fairisle at the time was hugely popular in the late 70s/80s.
Usually 4 ply and although beautiful very time consuming. Plus if your tension wasn't great it became stiff and uncomfortable to wear.
Enter Icelandic jumpers...chunky, soft and easy.Joy!
