Learning CSS. Advanced selectors are tricky!

The Odin Project has done such a great job at explaining everything. Wish Codecademy would take note.

Odin is free by the way. If only they were as interactive as Codecademy.

After failing to make time to code in the past few months, I'm back to basics...again! πŸ₯²

Nice! I've been involved with marketing too for the past decade. Decided to take a plunge into coding this year. Keep posting about what you learn :)

Looks cool! How many hours are to spending coding each day?

Let us know how it goes :)

Hi Nina, what's inspired you to learn coding?

Day 3 of #100DaysofCode & #DevMateDiaries

Added colors, an input field, a button, fixed container size, line heights, font families & other visual aspects.

I've realized I like working on the frontend because of immediate output & making things visually appealing is satisfying.

Make some progress ...

I wish I had something to show, but dedicating time to the project has been challenging, and progress has been slow. (2/2)

Day 1 & 2 of #100DaysofCode
Day 1 & 2 of #DevMateDiaries

Since I publicly committed to the challenge, I've coded for 2 days. I'm trying to create an MVP waiting list form and a landing page. (1/2)

My tool is not exactly a social tool like your HypeDesk which I signed up for yesterday and used a bit...it has potential. Frankly I'm still figuring out what exactly I want to build and how to use my existing marketing skills to build a useful product.

What inspired you to build HypeDesk?

Thanks, Alex πŸ™

Yes, there is a real need for proper marketing guidance for developers who can't afford to hire or build a marketing team. I'm hoping to make a difference with my tool.

Thanks Alex πŸ™

I see on your profile that you are taking on the 100-day coding challenge like me. Are you starting from scratch or just upgrading your skills?

I'm considering using the name DevMate, and I'll use the tag #DevMateDiaries to share my progress and learnings.

Wish me luck! Here I go....

I'm taking a few JavaScript and React courses at Codecademy.

I have a background in marketing, so alongside learning at Codecademy, I'm going to build a marketing tool that will help solo developers find real users and convert their side projects into thriving businesses.

Ok, so I'm publicly committing to learning to code.

It's the middle of the year, with approximately 160 days left. I'm committing to #100DaysOfCode, which I aim to complete in the final six months of this year.

Congrats πŸŽ‰ That's a huge number!
July 16, 2025 at 7:26 AM
Cool, good to hear! Hope things improve.
July 16, 2025 at 7:22 AM
You mean the hero section of HypeDesk's homepage, right?
July 16, 2025 at 7:09 AM
Oh, so using your own tool to market it. That's a great idea. Very interested to see how it goes. Keep posting and good luck!
July 16, 2025 at 7:07 AM
What's the plan?
July 14, 2025 at 10:26 AM
Yea, it's hard. Making a point of posting something every week, even if it feels stupid and doesn't get reply or likes, is important. I've been trying to engage with folks on x dot com for the past 6 months. It's been mostly crickets but things are picking up. Last post recieved 10+ replies.

As a builder/developer, what drains you most?

– Debugging
– Marketing
– Design

I don't have much on my repo cause I've just started learning to code. I don't have the skills to review anyone's code rn. When I have something to share, I'll post it here :)
