This other guy (Come True san) was so nice, inviting me into the conversation at the bar. He did reprimand me though, for not discovering this place earlier. He told me that when you're seated at the bar, everyone is family.

I've made an agreement with Bear Book san that we'll both come back to this bar next week. I'm so glad my hungry tummy led me to this place tonight lol

Drinking at this bar and there's this Japanese guy who keeps translating all the other Japanese people's names literally into English "for my sake" and it's so fucking funny. We'll be talking in Japanese and he'll suddenly refer to "Autumn Origin san"

Something tells me that the fact that frequent ramen intake is associated with alcohol consumption and smoking might just be very relevant in explaining the increased mortality.
4. Discussion
This study showed that Japanese community residents consume ramen daily and frequent intake is associated with high BMI, smoking, alcohol consumption, diabetes, hypertension, and consumption of noodle soup. Furthermore, frequent ramen intake was associated with increased mortality risk in several groups, including men, those aged <70 years, and those who consumed ≥50% of noodle soup and alcohol

On the left: Mainichi Shimbun reporting on a new study about the correlation between ramen consumption and mortality.

On the right: a statement from the actual scientific publication itself.
First, a direct causal relationship cannot be determined because this was an observational study, and this study uses cross-sectional dietary data, and temporal changes in diet are not considered.

Then again, maybe they are foolish enough. We'll see.
suika.bsky.social
I highly doubt we'll see an immediate snap election. Without Komeito support, the LDP could lose a lot of seats and I really doubt LDP leadership would be foolish enough to head into an election without first re-assessing their strategies now that the playing field has been shaken up so thoroughly.

Yeah things aren't very stable here:

The fourth Rutte cabinet (VVD/D66/CDA/CU) fell in July 2023.
General election in November 2023.
Dick Schoof's cabinet (PVV/VVD/BBB/NSC) finally gets formed July 2 2024.
Schoof's cabinet falls June 2025 (PVV leaves) and then falls AGAIN (NSC leaves) in August.

Veldkamp resigned because coalition parties VVD and BBB opposed new measures against Israel that he wanted to take. Soon after, the other NSC ministers resigned too.

This appears to be the first time in Dutch history that a party has left a cabinet that was already demissionary.
Na Veldkamp stappen ook alle andere NSC-bewindslieden uit kabinet
Het conflict draait om extra maatregelen tegen Israël. NSC wil die wel, VVD en BBB niet.

Still, the electoral system can be expected to keep it from becoming as multipolar as Dutch politics (which uses proportional representation for all elections), don't you think?

Then again, Dutch politics are fairly multi-polar I guess... 4-party coalitions are more rule then exception rn.

lol I'll try to keep the difference in mind. In my native language both "historic" and "historical" translate to the same word, so that doesn't help.

They're absolutely not more right-wing than the LDP and I'm really curious where people get that idea from. Either way, the reason is corruption--in particular the prospective appointment of Hagiuda Koichi who has been involved in a number of scandals.

I'm in the modern era now. I must say, combat is quite engaging--I really like how commanders work in this game--but city-building is less fun than it was in CIV VI.
