Oh, yes yes yes! I finally more or less got my jewelry stuff set up and I have free time this week so I'm taking commissions! For base metals (copper, nickel, brass), earrings start at $20 and everything else starts at $40! I can also do titanium and silver, please enquire for prices.
Four keychains of cat faces. One is nickel (silver color), one is brass (gold color), one is copper (reddish color), and one is nickel and copper soldered together. They each have a little rhinestone charm attached and (not pictured) the cat's name in beads. A collar pin in anodized titanium. It is a dragon skull plus several vertebrae, articulated into a chain A pair of copper earrings. Each one has a hammered bar with an amethyst bead hanging from the end A pendant cut in nickel (a silver colored metal). It is in the shape of a tiger skull, and the lower jaw is riveted in place

I mean if you just Google Loyola it will indeed tell you they are the wolf pack. It took me a tiny bit of digging to confirm that yes, in MD they are greyhounds. I guess for a free fic I could forgive some surface-level digging. But still!!! As a Marylander I was like no!
sundaycreature.bsky.social
Haha yeah. I will still never be over the fic that said the mascot for Loyola University in MD is the wolf. I was like wait. Aren't they greyhounds? They are! Chicago is wolves!
sundaycreature.bsky.social
Also if I ever post one of these and you figure out what fanfic I'm talking about: no you didn't. It doesn't matter and don't you dare bother someone who posted FREE fics on the internet for our enjoyment with my quibbles!

In the name of not commenting about stupid stuff directly to any fic authors I'm reading right now: when making a cupcake cake you actually place the cupcakes and then decorate them, rather than decorating and then placing them! Less likely to mess up the decorations and easier to make them cohesive
sundaycreature.bsky.social
I just generally try not to comment about things like that because a. I don't want to make anyone feel stupid for simply not knowing something and b. ultimately it is a free fanfic and I don't need to bother the author with what essentially amounts to quibbling haha
sundaycreature.bsky.social
I mean, I can understand why someone might think you decorate the cupcakes first but no! That is way too hard!
sundaycreature.bsky.social
The 'mingoes were originally gonna be macarons but my stupid, ancient, inconsistent oven burnt them :/
sundaycreature.bsky.social
This was the birthday cake in question btw:
A photo of a round cake displayed on a low wooden table. It is iced in light blue, with a pair of swimming flamingoes on top. The bottom border is light green, and the flamingoes are surrounded by green foliage and purple flowers. There is a pair of hearts on the side below the flamingoes, and around the back of the cake are four tall, thin candles in shades of pink

Also whenever I think about the year or so I spent as a professional cake decorator I can't help but think of the (later) coworker who saw my birthday cake and was like, you should do this professionally! Been there, done that!

I mean, at least in the US there is an official authority on *racehorse* names. Idk that they care much about mini ponies tho
sundaycreature.bsky.social
People say the wildest things lmao
sundaycreature.bsky.social
Me: oh, it's the name of a famous racehorse

Guest: this is a famous racehorse?

Me: no, this is a miniature pony
sundaycreature.bsky.social
Just because this story came up a few times irl lately:

I used to work with a mini pony named Seabiscuit. One day we had a guest who was like, what's the horse's name? And when I told them they were like, well, that's a weird name for a horse

Here's the second half! The kenku one was actually made later because I couldn't think of anything for Matt at the time :p
A brass (gold tone) keychain in the shape of a pair of goggles that are reminiscent of an owl's face. It even has a tiny leather strap A nickel (silver tone) keychain in the shape of a bolt of lightning with tattered, vaguely bat-like wings A nickel (silver tone) keychain. It has two parts. One looks like the hooded head of a crow-like person, and the other is a tiny dagger A nickel (silver tone) keychain in the shape of the bottom half of a broken mask

Some jewelry I actually made as gifts for the cast of Critical Role. Here's the first half:
A keychain in the shape of a beetle, made out of anodized titanium so it's sort of rainbow colored A keychain in the shape of a tiny fat unicorn. It's made out of anodized titanium so it's a sort of rainbow color A keychain cut out of copper and fire treated so it's in shades of yellow, orange, and a little singed black. It's in the shape of a diamond on fire A keychain in the shape of a curved, one handed sword with a slit like a cat eye on the hilt. It's made of anodized titanium and is mostly blue, with spots of silver that are sort of reminiscent of barnacles

There was one that kinda looked interesting with some of the flesh still on the front of the face and then I noticed it had a rat nose but opossum teeth :/
sundaycreature.bsky.social
That too! Sometimes there's really cool art exhibits and the Buddy Shop is full of all kinds of ultra cool stuff by local artists for sale
sundaycreature.bsky.social
I was looking up refs for rat skulls on the internet and it's a good thing that I both have actual rat skulls around for reference and know more or less what one looks like because there was definitely a lot of AI slop in there 😬

If you go to Chicago sometime you gotta visit the cultural center and see the Tiffany ceiling. It's well and truly astonishing

Also bringing this thread back for Halloween! If you want a spoof movie poster I love making these and will totally make one for you too :>

In honor of spooky season I'm bringing these back~ spoof movie posters I made for a previous job! Rex was totally entranced by the TV static, making this probably the easiest shoot for this project...
A spoof of the poster for the movie Poltergeist. The title has been changed to Poultrygeist. Above the title is the quote, "They're here," and the subtitle reads, "It knows what scares you." The poster features a darkened image of an orange silkie chicken staring at static on the screen of an old-fashioned TV, standing slightly to the left. A small plushie dinosaur sits in the same spot on the other side. The bottom of the poster reads "A Wild Flight Studios Production."

Some movie monsters! I made these at a con where I was doing live demos - I thought Godzilla turned out especially well hehe :>
A cut nickel (silver tone) necklace in the shape of King Kong. King Kong is hanging from cuffs on his wrists and is making an angry face An anodized titanium necklace in the shape of a little stylized Godzilla. It is very cute. The pendant hangs from his "hands* and has his head tipped up with a little toothy grin. Because it's anodized, Godzilla's head is blue and purple but the body is mainly in shades of yellow

I used to work at a native species zoo, and people always told me they thought that was kind of weird - who goes to the zoo to see deer and squirrels and things? - but frankly I think a lot of kids don't really experience their native wildlife enough or sometimes at all, really!
