My Kalma has been diagnosed with breast cancer. The good news is she is in good health it may be low grade, meaning surgery will drastically improve life expectancy. The bad is it normally costs around $6000 and is time sensitive- things I just do not have.

I'm really sad that losing my old job also meant saying goodbye to the work millipedes (and other animals there) and I'm like. I could get millipedes. But also I'm like no! I don't have anywhere to put another box of bug friends!

I guess it depends how you define "session zero." I'd say someone outlining safety practices, etc., in an email or DM counts, personally! Someone refusing to discuss those kinds of things if someone wants to I would def consider a red flag - which you could term "no session zero," I suppose

I'm winging it here more or less but last time it was so good... Like a really rich tomato stew

It's only cheaper if you buy the resealable container instead of the single serves (and only slightly) but it does taste good. Not all flavors come in all formats and some are seasonal etc. etc. but overall I like it.

Last time there was too much tomato and this time there is not enough tomato. That too

I made some fish soup again. Last time I put in way too much stuff and not enough water and this time I did the opposite... I'm figuring it out.

I have been thinking about this but I think it boils down to: most of them are only affordable if you can buy a lot at once, a big upfront expense kinda thing. Skratch is maybe slightly cheaper than liquid IV. Buoy supposedly is 33¢/serving? But you buy 120 servings at a time...

I am trying really hard not to be mad about a thing because being mad about it won't really achieve much except maybe vaguely pissing off a relative so. Here we are I guess

Also like I love comics. I love the way formatting pages matter, panels matter, etc., and while there are absolutely scrolling comics that I like, some things are just better off... Not like that.
February 6, 2026 at 4:59 AM
I was kinda thinking about this lately in the opposite direction (works originally formatted for the scroll tend to be ultra boring when put in book format) and like. Sometimes it's okay for two things to just be different things, even if they're conceptually similar...

I made myself be patient in my silly little gacha game* and I finally actually got a special card** huzzah huzzah

*no it isn't the anime horse girls
**for free because I wouldn't spend money on a gacha game even if I had any, which I don't

So like. I sort of thought it would be easy to find a 28" stool that didn't cost an arm and a leg but apparently not! Even the folding stools are like $60??? I do not need a quality item. I need something fast. Alas

Unfortunately the whole series would have been $40 on top of the reference books I actually went there to get... Oh well, it won't be the first partial series on my shelves!
