Summary:
Dimitri narrows his eyes, glaring down at the floor in thought. This could obviously be a trick. The Emperor would never for a second spare anyone who goes against her ambitions loudly. Dimitri will never understand why she started the war six years ago, why she targeted so many innocent lives. The Church of Seiros must have some information that is now long missing after Lady Rhea’s disappearance. Seteth and Flayn are nowhere to be found, either, so it’s impossible to know anything.

Dimitri perks up when he hears the squeaky cell door open, and light shines through—a dimly lit candle. The Professor enters the cell, closing the door behind them while still wielding their torch. “Have you eaten?” they ask, their tone even and neutral as ever. Soon they gesture to an untouched tray of food on the makeshift wooden table, along with the half-drank cup of water. “You should eat something. You’re pale.”

“As if you cared,” Dimitri mutters darkly. “How could you side with her, Professor? Are you aware of the path you’ve taken?”

“Please eat something before you get sick,” the Professor speaks up, dodging the question.

Dimitri scoffs and hugs his knees to his chest, trying to make himself smaller. Of course the Emperor would send her second most loyal lapdog down here, since she can’t even bother tending to her other prisoners of war. Despite being the sole survivor on that day a few moons ago, Dimitri was given a chance to surrender. Lady Rhea had begged him to retreat as the Kingdom army fell one by one, starting from Dedue, to Sylvain and Annette and… Felix.
