They need physics teachers on the field 😜

So will each student need their own device and internet access?

Is the exam online? Or does it have to be downloaded and printed like the previous years? I couldn’t find those details on the website

This is so true. I have students use the LESS method (list equation substitute solve) and remind them constantly that the LES part is the physics part and only the “solve” is the math and that is such a small part of the problem.

Can’t wait to try out Michael Freeman’s circular motion escape room as review with 9th grade AP1’s tomorrow @afreeparticle.com #iteachphysics

As you’re preparing for your Thanksgiving meal, remember the skilled work it took to get that food to your grocery store.

Tell us your favorite Thanksgiving dish, and we can share some of what we know about the work behind the ingredients.

Ugh and interesting because I use Naviance too, but haven’t seen the suggestion. Wonder why

I tell them to make sure they get enough sleep.

This is an amazing and uplifting list.
Please give me an unironic list of things that have gotten better over the last ten years because I’m spiraling.

I’ll start: you can buy an enormous TV from Costco for like $100 bucks now.

Hey #iTeachPhysics please share your thoughts on teaching momentum first or energy first (looking specifically for AP1)

One of my favorite labs is the “pendulum to a song” lab which is a sample activity now in the AP Physics 1 CED. One of my students took it to a different level. Turn up the volume 😀 #iteachphysics

@xkcd.com hey Randall I use your Earth’s temperature timeline #1732 in class and was wondering if you had an updated version. Thanks

I also make them discuss their estimate with their payer and report either either in writing/video clip/audio clip on whether or not they should be contributing to the bill and why. $0.12 per kWh is approx the residential rate where I live.

This post is like an excellently written FRQ response - concise and to the point. Thank you.

Thanks to the amazing Michael Freeman’s @afreeparticle.com collision simulations for some whiteboard work yesterday with AP1. They were wow-ed and also left with a pretty good understanding of center of mass. #iteachphysics

I have been thinking of using something similar but you have put the sequence so nicely. Thank you.

I wonder if it would be helpful to do v-t graphs and then do the momentum-t graphs (p-t). In the v-t graphs the final v would be the same for both and then it would show them the difference between v and p and the reason why the line for final p can’t be the same for both. Thoughts?

While I inhabit books a lot and easily get lost in a fiction plot, I don’t usually get emotional. As with her other books, @sonalidev.bsky.social ‘s There’s something about Mira had me shedding tears for the characters. Maybe because her plots hit too close to home. #booksky

My first class of the year is all about adulting, executive function, being responsible and meter sticks. I tell them by year end they need to be able to estimate a meter and that it would help them figure whether a dorm fridge/ apt. couch would fit in a space knowing how long/high 3ft is.

The Monday through Sunday pill box played a significant role in improving my health in the last few months. Hard to miss a dose so long as you remember the day of the week.
