And like people refer to shonen as a genre, when in reality it's just a demographic, when many genres fit inside shonen. Mecha, Slice of life, Hobbyani, Sports, etc etc.
People will talk about anime and then only mention battle shonen. I really don't like battle shonen and the common tropes that go along with it, so it makes it hard for me to talk about anime with other otaku. Like, I like DragonBall and Demon Slayer, and that's pretty much it.
