Hank Green has made a living riding the algorithmic waves of the social web. He joins @cwarzel.bsky.social to discuss the early promise of the internet—and what went wrong.

"Use of force shocks the conscience." But the President, Mr. Miller, Ms. Noem, and "The Border Czar" have none. And their rent-a-thugs were chosen for their lack of one, too.

Think back to how you felt a year ago when Trump was reelected.

Now think about how you feel after last night's election.

You volunteered. You went to protests. You didn't check out.

You put in the work required for our democracy — and it's paying off.

Remember this.

Hey @indivisiblebux.bsky.social! Four months ago I reposted your "Die In" because it was awesome. I see you, Bucks County, and today I applaud you with all my heart. Yesterday you rocked the vote and saved your schools and the impartial rule of law under which all people are equal! Bravo!!!!
Here's the view of the DIE-IN in front of Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick's office building in PA-01, as seen from above.

We want him to VOTE NO on Trump's Billionaire Bailout Budget Bill!

Thank you to Ava Redmond for her drone work!

There are two articles today that I consider our "must-reads". Here's the second one, which so perfectly mirrors my thoughts, it made me feel like I was reading something I'd just written myself.

Today there are two articles I consider to be our "must-reads". Number 1 is on how stupid it is for Trump to target Jack Smith. He's waking a sleeping tiger with this one, and I for one hope we get to hear it roar.

That's how he rolls, though. In case you hadn't noticed. There's utter impunity for malfeasance, high crimes and misdemeanors when you axe all the watchdogs, inspectors general, regulators, unsympathetic prosecutors, oversight agencies, and the rest. Formulaic dictator schtick.

GOT NEWS OVERWHELM? (No. 4)
It's too much. We know that. A head full of headlines in a tangle is a mental health hairball, so I tried a hella hacks. This works for me. Clip the headlines, put em all on one page and arrange until some kind of order emerges. I do it daily. Here's today's (3 pages).

This seems personal but it's important. I went through it and didn't even notice. Not one negative experience, symptom or issue. Zero. The myth that "it will be awful" MUST be smashed. It makes women who do experience problems avoid seeking solutions from healthcare pros. And scares the rest.

Why did it take so long for the collective mind to admit the obvious and call this spade a spade -- which some of us have been doing since we apprehended the gravity of the situation back in February. You all poo-pooed us, called us hysterical alarmists. I wish you'd seen the iceberg earlier.
