Midweek matinee

The opening titles of Rude Boy, a 1980 British film directed by Jack Hazan and David Mingay. Filmed in 1978 and early 1979, the film is part fiction, part documentary and stars The Clash and Ray Gange as a young fan who leaves his dead-end job to become a roadie for the band. Much of the film shows The Clash playing live, including footage of 1978’s Anti-Nazi League rally at Victoria Park in Hackney.

I thought I’d post Crooked Wing, the recent LP by These New Puritans for #AlbumAlmanac. The Quietus described it as ‘psychedelically ecclesiastical.’ I’m sure it would appeal to fans of Talk Talk and Virginia Astley.

I haven’t been to a gig for six months due to ill health but I managed to make it to see Edwyn live one final time. 🧡
