The garden is winding down, I have to accept that very soon all the perennials will be dormant under a blanket of snow until next Spring.
Echinops sphaerocephalus aka Great Globe Thistle. The round seed heads, against a blurred background of orange, are turning brown. Iris frond. Raindrops are beaded on a strap shaped leaf. The leaf has horizontal bars of green, yellow and brown. A deep orange rose hip (Rugosa Rose) in the center of the frame is surrounded by deep green, textured rose leaves. A type of Sorbus aka Mountain Ash. Bright red, brick and yellow coloured leaves in front of a greyish blue sky. Deep orange coloured berries are interspersed among the leaves.

The last few days of rain and successive storm fronts have provided some great clouds.
Towering column of grey and white clouds with silhouettes of conifers in the front lower left corner. Dark blue sky in the upper right. Grey & white clouds, backlit by sunshine, are coming from behind tree covered foothills. A brief break in the clouds lets the sun shine on the foothills. Dark green conifers are interspersed with gold, yellow and, ochre coloured poplars. The upper half of the frame is medium grey clouds coming from behind the foothills. Another storm front moving in. The top of the frame is clear greyish blue sky. Below is a ridge of flat bottomed puffy clouds that hangs over a tree line of dark green conifers & gold coloured Cottonwoods. In the lower left corner a shallow pond.
