They tell voters what they should be concerned about. They don’t bother to listen to what they are concerned about. We are trying to force a narrative on people who only need to look around or check their bank account to see what concerns them.

When I saw a list of the "100 ugliest public buildings in the United States," I naturally had to check to see whether any Missouri buildings were included. Surprisingly, only one: the Municipal Court building in Springfield, at 45th. Well deserved.

Over the years, the Missouri Humanities Council has supported my presentations to civic groups and libraries all over the state. Now the MHC is the next state agency to get thrown into the federal woodchipper. They deserve better. MIssourians need to make their voices heard. #humanities
