New stuff is in development for the game! A new title screen and menu is being built out for the next major update. As there is a need for some features to do stuff -before- a save is opened now, the "logo boot" version of the game shows a fancy logo splash upon starting.

July 30th 2005. 20 years ago today, after spending 7 years in development, Sword of Jade was released!

A new update is live on all stores for Sword of Jade! Most of the soundtrack is now OGG Audio instead of MIDI so you should be able to hear it on Mac/Linux/Deck and various Windows installs. The OGGs are just the MIDI tracks rendered out with a soundfont. Actual MIDI will return later as an option!

Sword of Jade is now available on the Humble Store as a Humble Gamepage. It matches the Itch base price at $8 USD, and debuts with the Summer Sale price of $4! Just like the Itch release, buying it on Humble entitles you to DRM-free downloads from Humble. www.humblebundle.com/g/swordofjade

Achievements are now live on the Steam version of Sword of Jade! All achievements will unlock retroactively if you met the requirements at any point for unlocking them. More achievements will be added later for free.

Update: The Android APK is now available as part of the Itch purchase @ fyrewulff.itch.io/sword-of-jad... for sideloading. It's unknown if it's possible to include an APK with the Steam release, that's being looked into.

This is the only planned delisting of SoJ from any store. It was previously unplanned delisted from the Play Store, but that was done by Google not liking it being compatible with old Android versions, so currently, the mobile version of SoJ is unavailable. Solutions being looked into for mobile.

Sword of Jade is being delisted from the Amazon App Store (you remember that exists, right?) sometime in the next two days. In the interest of transparency, it's being delisted there because it had 5 total downloads in 6 years. All 5 of you will be able to redownload it post-delisting.

In the next update, you'll be able to choose between playing the modern MIDI/OGG soundtrack or the classic BAM (OPL2 synth) soundtrack. The BAM soundtrack is actually all OGG tracks, so you won't need to dust off your Soundblasters for this feature and will sound identical everywhere.
