Spooky Month Repost: Riding In The Shadows (2020)

"This All Hallows' Eve sees Alice and Janine embarking on a nightly adventure filled with witchcraft."

One of the first times OCs from two of my projects have crossed over. I do think they make a good duo; I should draw them together again.

This All Hallows' Eve sees Annie and Janine embarking on a nightly adventure filled with witchcraft. The piece itself was inspired by one of the first commissions Otocai did for me - Defy the Night - with Annie's witch outfit being loosely based on Norika's. Janine's design is loosely based on a scrapped 2013 re-design while the background is partially based on a random city skyline I drew back in 2011, reused elements from a background a friend once did (thanks again for letting me use it) and the skyline from the old Bewitched intro. Credit also goes to another friend for suggesting the angled, fish-eyed look of the buildings.

Vitriola the Slime Girl

Vitriola looks down on anyone she doesn't consider at least as intelligent as her, and she has a high opinion of herself. Also, her slime inflicts "Copper Sulfate Poisoning", so she's toxic both physically and verbally.

This is awkward...
That sketch of Autumn Blythe was actually made by a friend of Kosshi over 20 years ago! They lost contact, but I heard that was what started the Symphony saga 😮

As you guys know, I would later expand the story, and he made his own designs of previous concepts, keeping it alive 🫡

Full-body artwork featuring Blythe (autumn), the Woodland Child.

As a dryad, Blythe looks similar to Alteran elves. She is short and slender, even more so due to her apparent young age of 14. Her ears are pointed and her neck is thin. In this state, she undergoes an autumn transformation. Her skin turns fair and her hair a combined yellow and red, with it being short due to the decaying of nature.

Much of Blythe's autumn outfit is based on leafs, mushrooms, nuts and vegetables. Her shirt consists of various colors of orange and purple leafs and she wears a second 'skirt' in the shape of an African Daisy, with its pistil forming her belt. Her main 'skirt' is a giant pumpkin, with its vines circling around her legs. Her pauldrons are red mushrooms and she wears an acorn 'helmet' on her head.

Blythe is a major character in the Symphony series who changes with the seasons. This version represents her autumn form when the summer fun is long behind us.
