These lists are an excellent protective & sanity preserving tool. Thankyou !!😊x
Which is why he said that a withdrawl from NATO is not a good idea until within Europe there is an assembly that can supersede it.
Always helps to actually represent the whole essence of what is said. But I realise that doing so would have nullified your argument about people concerns over NATO...

The more I hear from Zack Polanski the less politically homeless I feel.
Amplified by the might of 85 followers no doubt.....🙄
The timeline in relation to these threads shows the account to be one who defends UK cherry picking of concessions from the EU (related to 90/180 days) from outside the Single Market.
Edit: So its Gyles the sad idiot & yet another moronic alias....🙄🙄
Yet another English exceptionalist you mean....
How does any of that constitute "cheap, lazy stereotype"?
When it involves so many *conscious" actions, deeds & attitudes.
Omni-present Euro scepticism bubbling below the surface for so many years took its ultimate opportunity. And here we are with Brexit itself. Meanwhile (just about) every other European country has a template it knows to avoid based on the British (English) experience.
No surprise how enough British people were influenced by Vote Leave & all the anti EU myths & bogus Brexit promises with these levels of entitlement & refusal of the UK to act as MS team player for so long.
Accruing a bespoke position as a MS within the EU with opt outs, concessions, no Euro etc that no other MS automatically assumed or expected. Cameron's debacle of exceptionalism demands prior to the referendum. I could go on.
Thatcher's wanting a lead with the Single Market but not collaborative with the EU in respect of how it was implemented & acted as a security buffer.
I think if you look back at the history of the UK's membership of the EU it is clear to see that Kathy is wholly correct. Look at the 2008 financial crisis & how the UK alone rebuffed wanting to help Greece.
Not 90/180 days & Visas always necessarily, but a whole raft of issues that equally overlap with 'make Brexit work'. They equally never mention community/integration, diversified culture etc as true shared collaboratives.
This is where I admit to have become less patient & tactful.
There are a number who come & go on these threads who profess to be dyed in the wool pro-Europeans - yet they still think that the EU could/should do more to ease the UK problems of Brexit.

I will keep banging on about this…

…because it is clear that the UK political & media class is utterly broken.

To the point whereby local democracy, trust in the police, quality analysis, honesty, and public safety are all being deliberately sacrificed.
I guess my patience has eroded with these discussions that centre around entitlement and UK expectations of the EU - and those that continue to see European responsibility towards the UK post Brexit and TCA.

I worked on European projects and met with a diverse nationality group in cities across Europe. They always sought ot local specialities and activities to share. I was pleased to be the only Brit and to go with the flow.
I continue to marvel at the difference some 4/5 years on from leaving the UK. All those facets of fulfillment & enjoyment are amplified against a background of acceptance of diverse sections of people without culture war hostility overspilling into day to day life to threaten & alienate people.
Mr Hibberd blocked me following that discussion.
Thanks Niall, and for the good thread thread itself of course.

Funny after posting this yesterday I came across a big Bsky debate on a @jonnyhibberd.bsky.social calling for all people from our continent should have unrestricted travel across Europe and that politicians should get on it.

This reaction was justified.

I left X last November🙄 Failed strawman.
Now its time that you left my timeline. You have bored me enough. Go on, off you pop.
