Hi I'm tamm. Again.

People know me as an artist but I'm actually a huge toy person. Mostly imports, specifically really into gokin stuff and SRW lately.

I never know what to put in these but go look at my main it has cool art.

I almost lost this as it was scheduled to ship the week the postal strike happened, but thankfully hobbygenki was able to switch me off of EMS. So I actually got my Phoenix Gundam :)

Love that it's so slavishly the original lineart proportions from the 90s. Cannot tell you how many hours I put into G Gen back in the day and finally having a proper figure of it makes me so happy. Difficult to pose with the wing binders, but it looks fantastic due to how articulated the wings are.

Consistently impressed with how tight and fun RDs are, especially when something with this much mass hinging on the shoulders alone. Hallmark of this entire line for me really is that too, just that they're all really fun. Even moreso with the transformation gimmick.

Really hope they make a Cyclone too but most likely they'll just make the crossrays variants instead cause it's a much easier remould 🥲

Very specific annoyance of knowing that the Zeta and Nu RDs are cheap but incredibly rarely available for some reason despite there being Metal RD and METAL BUILD versions available?? And Grendizer it's more that I'm competing with the entire nation of Italy for decent prices on that last SOC.
tammtoys.bsky.social
I am SO CLOSE to getting the full SRW MX shelf. I think it's just the Zeta, the Nu and Grendizer left.

I know I keep talking about it but this engineering is just unthinkably smart. A toy with another toy inside of it shouldn't have hips and shoulders this functional. It shouldn't be able to have a torso swivel or a crunch. But it does and it looks fantastic. I can't get over it.

I know Jim and Leina are really important in the actual anime but like.

Come on.

It's Jet and Drill. You need Jet and Drill.
tammtoys.bsky.social
More annoying knowing that the reason these go for over 130 or so aftermarket is because there's a bunch of gen xers who remember Gobots but have no connection to MR...

That and it does drive me nuts how the entire nosecone of Jet comes off. Especially when the Pose+ Jim is perfect transformation.

Mmm. Now looking at the old Action Toys Blue Jet and Rod Drill and questioning if it's worth tracking those boys down, or should I simply trust that Pose+ will eventually release that Triple Jim/Lena they showed off in 2023 and subsequently get to those two dudes...

Keep looking over and getting reminded they used vacmetal on the eyes for Baikanfu and Kenryu and god. Fuck it looks so good. Catches the light and describes the shape perfectly just at a glance.

Kenryu is usually an afterthought with these sets, but it's fantastic here. The double jointed knees and thigh swivels make it so that really the only thing it feels like it's missing is drop hips, but Rom is in there. Ab crunch and swivel despite it being a matryoshka toy. Unreal.

Baikanfu itself is just ridiculous. Difficult to pose and photograph due to the size, but almost as articulated as Kenryu. Only really loses knee articulation. Hips are insanely mobile and the whole upper body has so much range. This thing is just a marvel top to bottom. Can't believe it.

The level of engineering going into this, and to do it in a way that there's no paint scraping is just unbelievable. Matryoshka figures have always been an impossibility in my head, nothing should be able to pose well while being stacked internally. But this thing expertly pulls it off.

Hilariously Rom might be the most enjoyable of the three purely because of how poseable he is at this scale. Barely 3" but explosive looking no matter what you do with him. Cool as all hell and almost makes me want just a regular 6" figure of him because of how good this looks.

This is why you play SRW right here, man. Stupid ass shit like Rom interrupting Asuka about to be killed to aura farm with his theme song.
tammtoys.bsky.social
This shit reprogrammed me from a kid who thought Gundam was cool to a teenager who knew super robots were the real shit. Completely opened my eyes to the wider genre, and a massive amount of that was just Rom and Baikanfu.

Can't describe the feeling of managing to get a hold of something like this.

I say it every time I get a Sentinel figure delivered, but man. Man. Vysaga is such a unique design, and this pulls it off perfectly. Same as Soulgain, only ratchets are in the knees, but the zero gimmicks, only pure posing ability is what makes this thing so damn fun to handle.

The Godaiken is just gorgeous, especially with how good it looks in the scabbard. The cape having 4 wires running down it makes it able to nail any flowing pose you want. Nothing risks scraping or getting in the way, it's all just easy and fun to handle. This and Soulgain are a new standard imo.
