I'm grateful to be doing my DPhil in an environment that supports the arts as much as the science. @ecioxford.bsky.social @biodivoxford.bsky.social @oxfordecosystems.bsky.social

Sharing a story by my friend Arjun Kamdar on the life and death of an elephant, Ramu/Laden, who now lives in the memories of countless people who lived in and worked at the foothills of the Himalayas in Assam. www.projectcroak.com/post/the-lif...

Thinking of how to design DPhil chapters that are relevant to current discussions in the field but is also useful & important for vulnerable communities/landscapes. And yearning to use truly transdisciplinary art & science methods from the conception to the rolling out of this research in the world.

Sampling in stunning riverine grasslands in upper Assam. Who knew savanna field work would involve traveling by boat and watching Gangetic river dolphins on the way to our field sites.

Very excited to reflect and share on our lovely collaborative field expedition in Angola earlier this year. Come, take a walk down a catena in the miombo woodlands with us. 👇

In Kerala amongst the circling Brahminy kites, the diving chestnut headed bee-eaters, the very still heron, the low flying cormorants, & the egret. The Manjaly river is sweet to taste. Is lined by mangroves. Fish farms. Wooden boats.
