Lar Lore: Regions

The 8 regions were each ruled by a species or group of species, each descendant from different predators: Silth (foxes), Grashen (wolves), Nut Kalu (polar bears), Reng Kalu (black bears), Reng Kalu (brown bears), Nar (felines), Jin (raccoons), Thihn & Shehk (weasels & genets)

Lar Lore: The Unification War

One of the most important events to happen in Lar was the war that led to it being given a name. Prior to the war, the region was divided into 8 separate sections, each ruled by a different predator species. They each had their own languages, customs, and governments

Lar Lore: Fauna

The local fauna include dangerous mythical creatures, though you are far more likely to find what will later be referred to as Lareans: intelligent animals living in various different societies. Before the Unification War, there was no universally agreed upon name for all Lareans

Those who return are often thought to have gone mad. They speak of talking animals and have unexplainable injuries. Though in reality they're speaking the truth, no one will ever believe them. They've faced challenges normal people would never dream of... But they failed

Though not the only one, the forest is indeed a source of magic. Granted by the wilds to intelligent creatures for reasons unknown, many risk the dangers in hopes of gaining power. Very few succeed and typically decide to reside forever within the forest. Those who return however...

Lar Lore: Rumors

The forest is known as the source of all magic to the locals, but it doesn't come without risk. Many of the dangerous creatures controlled or eradicated from the populated areas are rumored to roam free in the forest and those who enter are almost never seen again

Lar Lore: Location

Lar is a region in Europe in a world not unlike our own. Known to the outside world as " The Forbidden Forest" or "Death Zone" or "Area of Certain Doom," it's actually quite a pleasant area located between La Jehn (modern Day France) and Gerstadt (modern Day Germany)

I like it for when I'm working on something and I haven't saved in a while, but I do most of my work on a laptop so it kinda has it built in, lol. I have one on the PS5 though in case it happens while I'm playing (and on the modem in case they didn't lose power at the Internet station)

Lar is the setting of many short stories I have written and several novels I hope to some day write. I've decided to put some info here, in case anyone is interested in the universe I've been building for almost 20 years. These will start with "Lar Lore" if it's about Lar. Feel free to ask questions
