Watched this on a flight back from a vacation in the Scottish Highlands, and now I have the criterion Blu-ray. You nailed exactly why this movie has stuck in my craw - aside from the natural beauty it captures. Mac has character growth, but it doesn't affect the town plot. Weird (good) choice!

Would love to hear an exploration of this happening. Fans do plenty of re-canonization on their own. Then you have "gas leak years" a la Community where the creators are explicit about it. Versus the common pretend-it-never-happened.

Indeed. Online spaces are where the most committed/radical people are refining their thoughts, and it's easy to lose sight of the big picture.

It's good to have people working on step 1 and on step 8, but the step 8 people too often shit on the lower rungs for being behind.

Yeah, it's a data artifact that LA and IE are different metros, as you often talk about. And it really doesn't reflect the reality of what life is like to the average SoCal resident.

For example, Industry and Ontario are two logistics/ImEx hubs, and it would be cheaper for someone to live near Ontario/Rancho Cucamonga and drive into Industry.

Corona boomed over the last few decades, and there are jobs in Anaheim 'only' 20 miles away.

It's still awful, but better than DTSB-DTLA
