Leveling is now streamlined, skill acquisition is automatic, gear stats are either for flavor or unintuitive or both, and everything funnels you to an endgame loop to the point that the world you’re inhabiting becomes set dressing for an always shifting next big thing.

I think the major issue with current gen MMO’s compared to older ones is the lack of any choice outside of character creator.

Finished East of Eden tonight. What a wonderful story. My initial feelings are it feels like a sister to Les Miserables. They share very little in common but the vibe is there for me. They feel so similar.
EoE now occupies that pantheon of stories along side Les Miserables for me. What a novel.

I’ve already posted about this I’m pretty sure but it’s so strange to me that GW2 doesn’t have more reputation related content bc it feels like a perfect fit for a horizontal progression game.
