Here's my obligatory posting of the flow chart I created two years ago to help folks understand whether they'll be able to register to vote under the SAVE Act. (Red lines are no, green lines are yes.)

(I apologize that I don't have an alt description for this chart.)

Every academic book is a conversation with the work of other scholars. Here are some of the works I cited & one I did not and how they influence me. Alison LaCroix's Interbellum Constitution was out before mine. She generously forwarded me her page proofs so I could learn from her book. 1/

at the #pdx zoo yesterday jonah paused to shoot stills of most of the animals we walked past. i lost him three (3) times! first, when i observed a chimp interacting with a hominid. second, when we got to elephants' enclosure and i got lost in the baby elephant moment. and i stopped to watch tigers.

arresting former presidents.

i'm fine with that. w's been waiting a long time for his chance to chat about aluminum tubes and revenge as a motive for political assassination of foreign leaders.

and when trump's finally done with being a dictator and is just a dick with a tater, still more joy.
For months and months I said Trump was going to arrest and imprison his enemies and I think people just thought I was being alarmist. He will absolutely put them all away to feed his disturbing, sick mind. He’s becoming more and more dangerous and mentally ill. #Projection

not for medicad, and not for public executions.

not for biden, and not for trump.
In Printz v. United States, #SCOTUS held that the Constitution bars the federal government from forcing or otherwise compelling local or state governments to enforce federal law.

The liberal squish who wrote the majority opinion in that case? Justice Antonin Scalia:
