Kirton Lime Sidings in September 1989.
The sidings were still in use for the receipt of cement traffic from Hope, and the Brigg Line was still furnished with a useable, albeit infrequent, six trains a day passenger service at this time

Midland Railway - Butterley plays host to a terrific mix of rolling stock in varying stages of upkeep, but this one is a unique item now. Hopefully they run another DMU gala so I can sample the 141 🫡

A rail replacement bus service between Retford and Cleethorpes was planned.
We are aware that for the last 3 days this service has not run.

Pains me to say it but these are actually growing on me. They have superb acceleration which caught @tdlovestrains.bsky.social by surprise 😁
Just a shame they are a bit bland in the noise department, certainly comparable to what we loved on the Cross City before them
