Today, one of our lovely Nottinghamshire volunteers Tom, has been out in Worksop, posting leaflets adverting coming on the unique Northern Railway Brigg Line passenger service, and visiting the market town of Brigg.

In Regional railways colours, 158760 passes Brigg signal box and level crossing on the morning of 19th April 1997, with a Sheffield Midland to Cleethorpes service.

The signal box survives today, but the level crossing barriers have recently been replaced.

Both routed via the Brigg Line.

The Brigg Line was doing its bit for Britains export drive with a daily succesion of coal trains carting coal off to the world via Immingham.
47174 is returning to Worksop passing Brigg signal box on 27th. May 1980 with an empty MGR set.

We've been keeping an eye on this excellent unit.

Something like this would be absolutely brilliant on a Cleethorpes to Worksop shuttle service, using just 1 unit would give the Brigg line communities 5 round trips.
