Teachers who’ve had training in parental communication are more likely to feel very confident calling home.

For negative calls, confidence jumps from 18% (no training) to 24% (with training) — a meaningful boost for a tricky part of the job.

How manageable is teachers’ parent-contact workload? ✉️📞

33% of primary and 37% of secondary teachers say parent contact is “very manageable”.

In schools where teachers can’t be emailed directly messages are filtered through the office - that figure jumps to 47%.

33% of primary teachers “often/constantly” think about resigning vs 26% of secondary 💼

Teachers whose last lesson was disrupted by behaviour are nearly twice as likely to “constantly” think about leaving (15% vs 8%) and much less likely to “rarely/never” consider it (32% vs 46%).

Weekend marking is rising again: 27% of teachers worked Saturday or Sunday this year (24% last year).

Classroom teachers feel it most, with 28% marking vs 20% of senior leaders 🖊️
