Stobotnik Hollow Knight AU

A two-part illustration. First, bug Stone and Robotnik in an alcove of Queen’s Station in Hollow Knight. Their home has a table where Stone slices mushrooms to cook. Robotnik sits on a pillow and holds a small contraption. Behind him are shelves of mushrooms and other inventions. Text reads “Stone and Robotnik’s home in Queen’s Station. Stone prepares meals while Robotnik tinkers.” Second, Robotnik and Stone in Fungal Wastes. They’re surrounded by mushrooms. Stone rides on Robotnik’s back to reach a tall pink mushroom. Robotnik looks eager to have the mushroom. Text reads “The two of them venture out to Fungal Wastes to pick mushrooms together.”

Text reads “Stone once worked as a nail-for-hire, now he’s Robotnik’s protector and partner. He fights off enemies while out on the wastes. If the Knight attacks either of them, Stone will always parry, then politely ask them to be more careful.” Stone’s speech bubble reads “Be mindful of your blade, small warrior.” Text continues and reads “When Stone is home, the Knight may challenge him to a sparring match. Winning will cause Stone to surrender and thank the Knight for letting him relive his hunting days. Listen to Robotnik when he’s home and he’ll tell the Knight about the invention he’s working on. He might even mention he and Stone once shared a dream to rebuild Hallownest with his creations.”

Text reads “After some time, the infection begins clouding Robotnik’s mind. He will sit unresponsive, mumbling about seeing a light on top of a throne in his dreams. Stone will not let the Knight near Robotnik, and mention his intentions to find a cure. Slaying Robotnik when he’s alone will cause his corpse to fall, knocking over his inventions and igniting an explosion that destroys his home and damages the Knight. Upon returning, Stone awaits the Knight, initiating a battle more formidable than the sparring match. If the Knight is victorious, Stone’s corpse will fall towards his destroyed home and remain. BAD END. If instead Robotnik is spared, and the Knight finds Stone around Hallownest, Stone will return to be with his partner. Stone’s dedication and care for Robotnik is what brings him back to his senses. The two embrace and thank the Knight, offering them a place in their future kingdom, when one day it’s safe to dream again. GOOD END.”
