In my painting WHO STOLE THE TOOTHPASTE? (2019) I used Ely Courthouse because I understood that E. H. Shepard had been inspired by it for his illustrations for THE WIND IN THE WILLOWS. Until now I had no proof that he ever visited Ely. Until now #visitely #elymuseum #familyportraits ehshepard
