Mentally I'm a mid twenties human in a forty-something body.

Parent to two wonderful kids, and husband to an amazing woman.

Mainly banging on about good music, books, games and sharing photos on here.
A question from my daughter after passing a bunch of teenage boys hanging out in the generic black puffer/tracksuit uniform with their bikes:

"Do you think boys would actually choose to dress like that if they weren't in a big group?. Are they just afraid to stand out?"

Clawing back some sanity through physical media and games with the kids tonight. Record selection got a little silly.

Rewatched @dantrachtenberg.bsky.social's brilliant Prey.

It's better than either of the original Predator Films, and I'm really looking forward to Badlands.

Going to have to rewatch Killer of Killers now...

Anyone know what time I should buy things from @bandcamp.com to ensure the Bandcamp Friday rules apply and any artists get 100%?

(I'm in the UK)

My timehop just reminded me it's 6 years since I read Wanderers by @chuckwendig.bsky.social - good job none of that sort of came true eh?

Naturally, I'm getting a cold at the tail end of my week off.

I think America are missing a trick here.

All someone needs to do is invent a machine which runs on bullshit and then they can just strap it to Donald Trump.

Energy crisis solved.

...and he'd actually become useful!
Oh shit, i think I’ve just found the biggest “did ye aye?” type thing in the long history of our planet

Nothing quite like the sound of a few lads on the train sodcasting terrible dance music while they tear through a few cans to make you appreciate your headphones....

Just finished the first of the @chuckwendig.bsky.social Star Wars Trilogy "Aftermath" - never really read much Star Wars stuff in print but this is a lot of fun. Important messages tucked away in there too!

Reacquired a book I'd lent out and opened it randomly to a page yesterday...

I'd already contemplated booking today off at short notice but this sealed the deal!

Good morning at work including some lovely words from a visitor about what they saw - time for a celebratory biscuit brew and a Tunnocks tea cake I think! @yorkshiretea.bsky.social

Finally watched @hamiltonmusical.bsky.social with my wife and kids last night (at the cinema no less!) and it was truly excellent. Going on to my short list of Musicals I will voluntarily watch and genuinely enjoy 🤩

6am in the UK, and #earlyrisersbookclub choice is @chuckwendig.bsky.social's Star Wars Trilogy which I found second hand a while back.

Appropriate stuff given the current state of the world...

Pro tip: fascism bad!

Walking to work on bin day is essentially like a real life, dull version of one of those temple run style games.

Dodge bin, avoid child on scooter, duck under brambles, slow down or be steamrollered by the inevitable elderly person on a mobility scooter who WILL NOT SLOW DOWN OR MOVE FOR ANYONE!

One of my favourite, and most random band related things is this tiny little artwork from Aaron Burtch
