Naturalists have criticised the depiction of the crocodile, as in reality they are unable to turn their heads. Fair, but guys, did you not see this snake? What the fuck is going on with this snake? Why did the sculptor think snakes had a full mouth of teeth?

This is a fountain to commemorate Georges Cuvier, a great French naturalist considered by some the father of paleontology. At first I thought Georges Cuvier was depicted as a semi-nude woman - a bold choice - but no, she represents Natural History. I'm sure it's what he would have wanted.

A fountain in the classical style with many sculptures of animals of varying accuracy, topped with a sculpture of a woman wearing just enough to indicate she is an allegory in the classical style and therefore her tits are out in a respectable sort of way.

If you aren't seeing skeets from some of your fave people, they might have been labeled "Rude" by bsky mods. Idk what they are thinking, I don't need a mommy to tell me who to be buddies with. Anyway, go into Settings > moderation > bluesky moderation (advanced) and turn Rude off.
