If AI data centres create a lot of heat and need loads of water to keep them cool, why are we not building them near hospitals, care homes and population centres, and using the heat and hot water to supply our populations with heating and hot water?

Our UK Home Secretary wants there to be more restrictions on those arrested at protests. Totally ignores the fact that many of those arrested are pensioners with a moral cause and nothing to lose. Look at WHY they protest, and fix that.

Out of interest, how many gang controlled areas have ICE or the National Guard gone into, and how many heavily armed, tattooed gang members have they arrested? I'm sure locals can direct them to known hangouts. Just asking....

I know I may be old fashioned, but I really can't understand why sending troops to fight in, firing missiles into, or bombing another country is not a declaration of war. Don't care who you are or who started it, you are performing an act of war against another country.

Was looking last year at buying an iPhone 16 Max, priced at about £1,700 UK. Same phone now £1,500. Is this an effect of US tariffs, reducing demand there, and meaning more need to be sold in the rest of the world?

Should I tell my US followers that a dozen (12) large eggs costs me £3.15 ($4.19) here in the UK? Oh, and some places it could be as low as £2.70 ($3.59). That's large eggs by the way, not medium or small...

UK Supreme Court has ruled women are defined by biological sex (DNA markers?). By default and logic, this means trans men are women and have a protected right to use women only spaces, no?

Stock markets are falling due to USA action, but is this a long term problem? The rest of the world is looking at alternatives to the US market, and we will all be working together on creating different markets. Long term, the only loser is the USA. Just don't panic.

We saw what the Conservatives did to our country, we are now seeing what Labour is doing. What compasionate, sensible alternatives do we have left? Could this be the time for the Lib Dems to step up? What happens if disgruntled Labour MPs move to the Lib Dems?

If Trump's tarrifs mean non-US companies widen their customer base and become less reliant on the US, that's a win for those companies, isn't it? And a long term loss for the US?

Seen a lot of negative news about Ukraine retreating from Kirsk. Remember, it was thought they could never go into Kirsk, and if they did, they would be kicked quickly out. They achieved the impossible! Glory to Ukraine!

Putin says the underlying cause of the war needs to be addressed... that's easy, the cause is his troops invading the Ukraine, remove them and there is no war.

For some unknown reason, just spent an afternoon downloading all my Amazon books to my PC, and importing them into a specific reader, not sure why... Was most worried about the Pratchett ones, though have them in hardback too. Suspect they might be subversive...

Lot of talk about AI doing certain work. Thing is, AI is a tool, like a hammer. It requires a human, with intent, to make it do something, and like a hammer, the intent might be positive, negative or negligent.
