30 years ago my friend Mark Wilson drew a comic strip for a fanzine that another friend - Kev Bowyer - and I were behind. It contained his vision of some scenes from the life of the wonderful Iain Banks.

Christopher Bickel’s “Pater Noster and the Mission of Light” gives me the same joy - though this film arguably has better performances, a tremendous soundtrack, and a more joyfully bonkers script than any indie movie I've seen recently. 2/3

Final thoughts today. My conclusion is that many in the US have no idea what's coming for it. Can't/won't believe. 'The institutions will hold'. 'There's always the courts.' Let's hope so. But the plan is shock & awe. Think high-profile scapegoats, a climate of fear, institutional cowardice.
