Netanyahu is not the problem. 80% of Israelis would be fine with continuing the genocide now that the hostages are freed. Likud and the further right parties have made dispossession, apartheid, ethnic cleansing, and genocide acceptable to the populace for 30 years. Trump is now trying that playbook.

An immigration attorney’s recent experience at a Chicago detention center reveals an alarming trend: ICE is transferring people between detention facilities without warning, making it impossible for them to reach loved ones and lawyers and further depriving them of due process.

I think these are terrible ideas.

Many neighborhoods have their own "rapid response teams" of residents who use whistles, car horns, and a coordinated text-based app that alerts teams when ICE is in the vicinity. There are 1000s of neighbors keeping watch/filming--and ICE STILL snatches people. ICE is violent toward watchers, too.

Approx 12,000 now and they are NOT able to be everywhere. Not sure how many are patrol officers. About 100 ICE agents showed up to terrorize a single block yesterday. There are 100s more, from many fed agencies, spread out over the 10,300 Sq Miles of the Chicago Region. The city itself is 234 sm.

Do you have any concept of how big Chicago is or how many ICE agents are deployed here? Plus the 'burbs? Residents have flooded the streets because law enforcement can't possibly be present for all of this. We are already under occupation. Video you see is from security and phone cameras, not press.

Last update on this was that exactly ONE of the people arrested in South Shore is suspected of being Tren de Aragua. What people do not understand is that the Venezuelans are DOCUMENTED. They were vetted at the border for "credible fear" and given court dates. They also had TPS status--also vetted.

Their incompetence is dangerous to us, the residents of the city, but it gives me special pleasure to watch them teargas themselves and their vehicles over and over and over again. Like yesterday on the far SE Side.

GOOD. Really what they MUST do is GTFO of our city and stop terrorizing our friends and neighbors. Some day there will be prosecutions.

That the M.O. of the Party and Party leadership, which is why Chicago DSA and United Working Families Parties have been building a bench of younger, actually PROGRESSIVE pols who run on the Dem Ballot here--like Mamdani and the Squad. Grijalva and Ansari look promising in AZ but Ansari is AIPAC.

We can't bipartisan our way out of any of this. The Congresspeople we have out here on the streets are Delia Ramirez and Chuy Garcia. A LOT of our pols are 1st gen kids of immigrants or are immigrants themselves. It's our alderpeople, county, and state pols out there. & some candidates.

Small consolation that ICE is so incompetent that they teargassed themselves and their vehicles far more completely than they teargassed the crowd and CPD.

Don't know where you are writing from or who Greg is. Yes, some of our pols are right with us in the streets, responding to ICE sightings, pushing back. But that has to do with who our electeds are and why Trump hates us. Many of them are DSA or Working Families, aligned with the Chi Teachers'.

Chicago pols did not organize this city. Some have been working WITH immigrants' rights groups because their wards are heavily immigrant. Citizens have joined with the rights's orgs, but the immigrant-led groups and orgs have led the process. YOU need to find those people in your community and help.

Honestly, who has seen video of people being violent toward or assaulting ICE officers? People who resist being kidnapped off the street are not committing assault. Now ICE is detaining people--clearly white, US citizens who feel safe enough to document what they are doing or to warn neighbors.

I've had that "Florida" plate reported as being from TN, as well. I can't read which state it is from the video I got the numbers from. I ran it on that site. No avail information.
