I don’t like the taste of butter (the occasion Danish or Irish butter is acceptable). Idk why I bought these brioche buns. This is yet another reason why I eat bread sparingly. Not a food I actually enjoy

(I know why I bought them. They were the only hamburger buns at Aldi WITHOUT sesame seeds.)
I have been fixated on grapes for the last few weeks. They are addictively sweet. My body can’t handle much sugar; I’ve been eating a couple kilos a week. I need another food to fixate on, but… I don’t wanna

(It hasn’t helped that they’ve been marked down every week when I buy my produce.)
Admitting my exhaustion was the first step. I’m spent. Skipping sewing this morning to rest. My body is VERY pleased with this decision.

Always being on the go isn’t sustainable for me. Gotta keep making adjustments and find balance
The three guitarists each had a different types of guitar. Told the history behind the songs and the countries from which they originate.

Learning to play guitar now, I’m fascinated. Parsing out sounds but also enjoy them in melody. Guess I’ll be punctual at guitar lesson tomorrow
I’m so lucky that culture is celebrated here. It’s #OtoñoCulturalIberoamericano and I’ve been lucky enough to catch several amazing performances in intimate settings. Most activities are free (or reasonably priced— 15€ per person or less). It’s an annual event.

Tonight was another FREE concert.
Might add that to my winter rebates shopping list. I’ll figure out what cut I’m looking for and decide on colours.

I just KNOW these hips and thighs gone hip *and* thigh
Completely unrelated but, I’ve been flirting with the idea of getting a few sweatpants and rocking a “sporty” look. Especially when I’m working on my sewing. I’m a dress girlie to be SOUL, and learning the pants pattern might be my 13th reason, but they look so cosy and casual.
the teen* girlies (ugh, typos)
Long story short, the Girlies didn’t come today and Sewing Neighbour had to cancel last minute (super valid reasons).

So, instead of a scrumptious nap, I went to crochet and I’m almost at the event. Alone.

I’m ready for my season of rest. I’m tired
Last week, I was optimistic: I told the team girlies of crochet I’d show up for them today. I also told my Sewing Neighbour I’d attend a cultural event with her tonight. Decided to skip guitar and nap so I’d be fresh. The sleep was hitting GOODT but it was time to get up and go
No offence to my Crochet Cuties. Love y’all. Just tryna to finish a sewing project
Still under extreme weather advisory- Code Red. Grateful I survived the ride there and was able to catch bus home.

Out of an abundance of caution, tonight’s sewing is canceled. It’s The Remedials and I wanted to review the back of pants from yesterday.

Why don’t this happen on crochet nights?
Anyhoo, I learned NASCAR (driving, not being a spectator) ain’t for me. There’s a reason I ain’t never seen the Fast & Furious movie series/franchise.

I like my drivers Driving Miss Daisy slow (confession: I ain’t never seen that movie either 🫣)

(Thanks, Bus Drivers)
To have his coworkers co-sign like it’s the most obvious and elementary use of the police force. I’m befuddled. Confused. My world view is forever changed.

(Everybody acts like the police is they lil friend here, but to hear it straight from the horse’s mouth?!? Gobsmacked)
Never in my ENTIRE life have I heard an “police officer” in my country of birth utter those words. Not even in jest. Like, what do you mean you’re here to SERVE the people?

This why I just be living like I got rights. Y’all making sure I don’t go back!!
I experienced a first today: at my appointment with the national police, the kind police officer who attended me said “Police are a public service. We’re here to serve you. We’re not here to antagonise. I’m here to serve”

(He’s also passing along greetings from my favourite female national police)
On the plus side, I made my appointment on time. I told him 20 minutes earlier than the real time it was but we would have still had plenty of time to arrive safely.

Turns out, my appointment was 10 minutes earlier than I *thought*. And the computers were down because of the storm 🙃
I told the driver where I needed to go. I think he was tryna take me to the Lord (through his “driving”. I’m using that term VERY liberally.)

When I hopped out, he was like, get my number and call if you need a ride.

God protects babies and fools. I’m 41; the driver was older. Ain’t no way! 🙂‍↔️
I’m grateful I can take this hit (financially) and the weather definitely warrants hazard pay. Blinding rain and the streets washed our.

Fun fact: the government just seen out an extreme weather advisory at its highest level.

(I still hate make it back home)
I… Life stay keeping me on faith. The bus that usually takes 20 minutes took 40. Which means I missed the connecting bus. Asked a bus driver who’d just arrived and she directed me to a gypsy cab.

Anyways, I’ve paid my retirement savings *and* we’ve picked up 3 random folk but… I’m on my way!
Praying got everyone in the path of #HurricaneMelissa
Tomorrow is a different story doe! I have a non -negotiable in the morning but we’re under severe storm advisory for the next 21 hours 😬
The secret is to get me out of the house before sunset. Evening activities BEGIN appropriately for me to attend. Except those cultural events that start at 19h-20h.
If I ain’t there by 7pm sunset, minus whale be tomorrow.

I appreciate the rains cooperation whilst commuting today
Finally learned the pattern for back of pants.
In conclusion: I’m most DEFINITELY sticking to dresses and skirts. I really need a nudist colony if I’m honest. These patterns finna take my LIFE!

Glad I get to review tomorrow with the home girlies. I’ll be working on my bag in the meantime
I thought guitar tonight was a non-negotiable; my nap said otherwise. I’m not upset. I’m struggling with the season and time change simultaneously. Shorter, colder days all at once?!? Yeah, Imma be in the bed

(I probably didn’t help myself by turning on my heating pad)
