This Javelina was scooting by the backyard fence on its way to a very important appointment. This Crested Caracara was perched and taking in a view of the area. I took this long distance pic of a Northern Harrier flying just above the ground in the fields west of town. This male Wood Duck is always wearing that striking plumage.

Recently a rare Fork-tailed Flycatcher was found in the agricultural area west of #CorpusChristiTX. A number of fortunate birders were able to relocate it and grab pics. #Birds
This bird was flycatching from the wires and fences in the area. It seemed to be doing pretty well. One of its favorite perching spots was on this barbed wire fence near the country road. I haven’t seen the species for more than a week in and around our yard. Glad to see at least three of them show this morning. They were also a little vocal and I really love their call. Groove-Billed Ani. #Birds #CorpusChristiTX.

We are starting to get the return of some old friends to our area in the last few days. We’ll enjoy them for the winter. Even when we don’t see them in their hangout area a quarter of a mile away, it’s always fun to hear their calls early and late in the day. #SandhillCranes #Birds #CorpusChristiTX

This is my walking pal, Buddy, who is ready every evening for a walk around the neighborhood. Gives him a chance to take a break from his exhausting work of barking at Wild Pigs, Opossums and the like. 🤪. Great Pyrenees. #CorpusChristiTx
Buddy is a 4 year old Great Pyrenees dog who is mostly white with some biscuit coloration and is the big 130 lb. member of our family.

After reading some online recommendations about providing additional perches for hummers by putting up zip ties, I decided to give it a try. I have 3 up and they are used constantly by those who want to keep close watch over “their” feeder. 😜 #Birds #CorpusChristiTx
