Big uplift in recent years, invariably at least one person is reading a book (other than me), and four or five in a carriage is not unusual. Portable magic, y’know! 😊

Currently reading Inside a Pearl by Edmund White, though interspersing it with other things. A rollicking memoir of Parisians and ex-pats. I will seek out the Kuper. Thank you for the recommendation.

I moved to Birmingham in 1986 and left in ‘90. This was my period. I also took hundreds of photographs of the city around this time, which I should go back to - the photographs that is; not the city.

Celebrating this album’s 35th year of being a cornerstone of my collection. For thirty of those, I reckon, people would only stare blankly whenever I mentioned it; so glad it has been more widely discovered.

As wonderful on this Sunday morning as it ever was on the 1,820 Sunday mornings before it.
