2 AM is a magical time for me to be awake because I have to wrestle with Bad Thoughts telling me to post about my feelings, but alas: it is late and the brain makes melodrama of its sorrow. even now I'm writing extra flowery prose lol.

oh trust me I'm VERY confident in Wolf's visual design, but as I elaborate in this reply thread, I was taking this as a wakeup call to be truer to myself ^^;

so basically I'm less concerned about the visual design (Wolf's design is 100% not going to change because of external factors, if it does it'll be because I thought of a way to improve it for my own tastes) and more concerned with making his gameplay/feel be as authentic to my own roots as I can

yea I'm well aware of the archetype, I'm mostly thinking about "oh a lot of those normals and specials look REAL familiar to my own sketches and design notes, maybe this is a sign to take another look and try to incorporate more of my inspirations like sentai and tokusatsu into his battle style"

I'll admit, this is encouraging me to get more inspired and original with Wolf's combat and special/super moves, since the 2xko guy's kit wasn't really causing me to jump for joy wanting to play him. it's almost funny seeing the ideas I had in motion and thinking "damn, I should do better"

Well that's kinda fucked up lol, turns out 2xko also has a bluish grey and white wolf guy and... a decent number of his attacks were things I was imagining for Wolf. No biggie since werewolf characters are somewhay hard to diversify in terms of fighting style, but still a bit disheartening

It does not, tragically--same issue for me, I couldn't get it to work well with Wine either. Best you can really do right now is send a support ticket asking for a linux port and maybe encourage your followers to do the same 🙄

Thanks! You definitely seem to be keen on singing the praises of his looks, which I'm glad since it's important to the story that he's got his own brand of charisma despite society rejecting him for his monstrous nature.

As for the full-white, I guess it sort of makes him look kinder? Hard to say

definitely just an illusion, haha--I copied the layers directly and just edited the coloration on the snout, so there's no chance that the size changed any

I'm undecided on it, but there's something about the fully-white muzzle that feels more... authentic to the character for me? maybe it's just because it's what I'm used to, but the other one has a slightly different feeling that it portrays about him as compared to the fully white one.

thinking about it, undertale really got me through some of the worst years of my life, being an undiagnosed AuDHD trans egg and having just moved to florida.

folks were stumped as to why I was so enamored with that game, but I guess always having been "the weird kid" I just felt accepted for once

for the first point yeah 100%, though fishfolk have developed some special ways to make their clothes hydrophobic

for the second one, yeah, in part because of her mom forcing her to work as a secretary, but within that job she's also witnessed a lot of rampant corruption and grown a disdain for it

Zero wrinkles on her brain
- Thinks cats are adorable, never seen one in person before
- Webbed fingers and glover-like pigmentation present on her hands
- Fin-like appendages made of cartilige for hydrodynamic steering
- Award-winning smile
- Powerful swimmer's shoulders and hefty arms for carrying metal tridents around
- Boobs are actually float sacs because fish don't need mammaries (every member of her species has them) (makes transitioning really easy)
- Absolutely should wear a belt. doesn't.
- Not a big fan of the government (her mom forced her to get a job as secretary to the president) (her mom is president of the ocean)
